Yes. There is an announcement email list you can join to receive announcements about upcoming meetings and events.

Simply send a blank email (from the address you want to subscribe to the list) to:

announce-subscribe@spokane2600.org

Then after a few minutes, check your inbox (also double check your spam folder just in case it was tagged), and you will receive a confirmation email.

Follow the instructions (reply to) in that email, and then you will receive a "Welcome" email letting you know you have been subscribed.

This list is an announcement only email, so only the list admins can post. If you would like to see a bi-directional discussion email list created, please let us know, and we can easily create it for the community.

Yes. Simply click the "Chatroom" link on the left hand navigation of the Spokane2600.org website, enter (any) name you want and click submit.  You will receive a pop-up asking you to authorize the Java applet to run (yes, you need to have a Java-enabled browser), repond with "Grant All" permissions (if you don't, it won't work).

Alternatively, if you have an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) client installed, point it to the following:

Server: irc.spokane2600.org

Room: #2600

Please LOITER in the chatroom, people keep popping in and out, and missing those who are AFK (Away From Keyboard). You need to post a hello, then wait patiently. As more people loiter, the activity levels will pick up.
